In 2001, two Mexican brothers opened their first cantina on the Kerkstraat (near the touristic Leidseplein) and were soon enchanting everyone with authentic dishes from their homeland. That, combined with their reputation for having more tequila brands than any other establishment in the city (around 35 at the last count), ensured their popularity and they recently opened another Los Pilones in the quieter Jordaan area.

Open for dinner daily, this huge Mexican restaurant has a terrific atmosphere, combined with warm, friendly service and delicious, authentic cuisine. Great value is the option where you can choose fillings for your tacos, enchiladas or quesadillas. Arrive early for cocktails in the lounge area (Margaritas are served in pitchers!), and leave room for desserts, including the mouth-watering 'light cheesecake'.
