VAKZUID | Olympisch Stadion 35 | (020) | www.vakzuid.nl

This hip, well-heeled restaurant is located under the grandstand of the Olympic Stadium which was built when Amsterdam hosted the Games in 1928. Sprint over here in the late afternoon (it's in the south of the city) to sip cocktails on their loungeable outdoor terrace before diving into their creative menu, a subtle Asian-French fusion. Sunday afternoons are particularly popular with 30-somethings and their offspring. Note that it's en route to the Amsterdamse Bos.
