A great and unique initiative in the city is this café in the Vondelpark where – supervised by volunteers – children can learn how to cook, work as barkeepers, serve meals, write menus, and even do the washing up! Adults can have dinner there (at their own risk, I would say), and can expect vegetarian or world dishes, including pudding, for €10. It probably goes without saying, but no alcohol or smoking is allowed. Note that it's closed in August.
