Pip Farquharson is a freelance writer with 15 years of communications experience across a variety of media.
She has written extensively for travel publications including those by Time Out, Dorling & Kindersley and Rough Guides, and has recently penned features for Newsweek's Frommer Budget Travel magazine, Carlson Wagonlit Travel's Postcards magazine, Northwest Airlines inflight magazine and Dynasty, the inflight magazine of China Airways.
She regularly writes about gadgets and hotels around the world for Holland Herald (KLM airlines award-winning inflight magazine), and Boutique, the fashion and lifestyle magazine of Villa Moda (Dubai).
She has worked as a consultant on travel programmes on Amsterdam for, amongst others, the BBC, MTV and Lonely Planet.
Pip is also the author of Amsterdam Index: Creative City Guide, a 132-page travel guide published in 2006 (1st edition) and 2007 (2nd edition) by BIS Publishers, Amsterdam, The Netherlands, where she currently resides.
She is also author of the forthcoming CitySpots Rotterdam (Thomas Cook Publishing) due out in early 2008.
She has a BA (Hons) degree in Graphic Design (2.1) and also works as a DJ. She has played at Museum Night (N8) at the Rijksmuseum, IDFA (International Documentary Film Festival), Netherland Film Festival, VPRO's five-year anniversary party and deejayed at events for Wieden & Kennedy, Greenpeace and Amnesty International.

It came about a week after my truly miserable experience with SKY TV (see above) so I never called back. A few weeks later I found out what it was for... Doh!
